Beginning...tomorrow

So this blog is going to be my motivation, not for a New Year's Resolution - I don't want to jinx it already - but for a general goal...to lose 15 pounds. That's my first goal, I'd really like it to be 50 pounds but I'm trying to be realistic. My motivation started with the news of an engagement which will in turn mean a bridesmaid dress and standing next to a skinny bride...followed by my doctor who was the one to suggest 15 pounds even as we looked at my chart and I pointed to the low weight point and said I wanted to be there again (she told me I wouldn't be and that for my 5'10" frame that was probably too low a weight, are you sure...) and in general I want to get back into some of my favorite clothes that just don't fit right now.

I'm hoping that doing this in a somewhat public forum will result in additional motivation.

Since I don't currently have a job I need to figure out how to do this on the cheap so tomorrow I will begin with a daily weigh-in, trying to eat better, writing everything down in a food journal and sticking to my gym routine and maybe adding some of the new classes. The gym will be the hardest part, not that I don't like to go but I hate it in January when it's so crowded with new members. I'm going to cut back on beer and try to eat more vegetables. We'll see how that works.
